They're Back!

Developer Sledgehammer has answered the cries of gamers everywhere and delivered their first installment of Exo Zombies in the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (COD:AW) franchise! Avaliable today in their DLC pack "Havoc", zombies makes a much anticipated return, and Game Prophet is rather impressed with the results!

This marks a great victory for all the fans that have been flooding Activision's forums with this suggestion since before the game was launched back in November.

Game Prophet has been testing this new content all afternoon and we have to say it's really quite fun. The gameplay formula, originally developed by Treyarch studios, seems to be maintained very well, and even improved upon. Available for local, split-screen play, as well as four player teams over Xbox Live and PSN, Exo Zombies delivers the co-op experience that next-gen console fans have been craving.

You play as one of four characters, each voiced and modeled after actors John Malkovich, Bill Paxton, Rose McGowen, and Jon Bernthal. Each has their own stream of dialog that is both entertaining and adds to the story. Your team explores an Atlas complex that is overrun with a multitude of zombie variants. Each wave increases in difficulty and working together is key to your success.

No Protection?

The only question we have as of now is, why remove the re-buildable barriers from the previous games? Every zombie installment before has allowed players to gain credits by erecting defensive barriers at the various enemy spawn points. This lets players know that they will have a bit more time once the waves start coming, and can be part of your team's strategy. This would be something that could be reintroduced easily, and we're curious as to why it was removed.

Overall though, bravo Sledgehammer! Your fresh take on a classic Call of Duty mode is well crafted, and most importantly, fun! Game Prophet looks forward to the next three expansions which plan to feature more zombie action!
