Destiny - Kotaku.com Addresses Some Much Needed Improvements

Here at Game Prophet, we were so excited for the launch of Bungie's Destiny back in October. Oh the possibilities of a constantly updated space shooter, we said. A whole universe at our fingertips to explore and conquer. So, after crusing through story mode and hitting level 20, we thought the game had just begun- yet we were faced with an infinate loop of the same missions and scenarios, all over again....

Preach the Truth!
Gaming site, Kotaku, created a list of the "30 Changes That Would Make Destiny A Better Game" and we're on board with their ideas. The article, availible here, strikes up a conversation that is long overdue. We're going to address the three that we think are most important:
"New Missions with Actual Variety"
There are so many possibilities for mission types in the FPS genre, even in the first Halo game had a range of them, so where are they in Destiny, Bungie? We are tired of going from one waypoint to another, letting the Ghost (Game Prophet calls it the Dinkle-Bot after its voice actor Peter Dinklage) unlock... guess what?! another door for you!
I want to see inhabitants on these planets in need of rescue, epic landspeeder chases, big challenging bosses with different phases, more vehicals, etc. This just doesn't seem like its in the plans for Destiny, even in the future.
"An Improved Looking for Group Tool"
Where is everybody?! Unless you have a ton of friends still playing the game, its not easy to find people for missions. Yes there is the Vanguard Playlist but that doesn't cover Daily missions or raids! You can't even see what other players in the Tower are planning on doing, or searching for people to achieve.
Game Prophet believes there should be some sort of Group finding interface, or a logo displayed above your character stating which mission you are trying to find players for or are already in the midst of!
"Let Players Trade Items... Or Maybe Don't"
Kotaku seems to be on the fence about this one stating that they're, "not sure if we really want it" and that they are, "not sure if it would actually improve the game."
Game Prophet thinks trading would be a great addition in that higher-level items are class specific and should be avaliable for transfer to your friends. Got an epic piece of chest armor for a Hunter and you're a Titan? Trade it to your raiding buddy for something hes got!
Trading allows for further integration between players and sparks the game's economy. Destiny is lacking in the player-to-player interaction department that comes standard in most MMO's and needs something more!
Show Me My True Destiny!
At the end of the day, Game Prophet still loves Bungie, but just wishes Destiny had been much, much, more of what it was promoted as: an ever-expanding universe with new missions, areas and threats released over the years. The gunplay mechanics are all there; Destiny is a fun game to play, just not forever. However, there may still be hope in that Destiny is designed to be updated and hopefully developers will take note of all the great fan suggestions. Until then, check out the full article at Kotaku.com and keep grinding out the same 'ol dailies..
